Launch of Heartbeat Heroes, a Heartsafe Campus initiative

23 September 2025 – UiTM Selangor marked another historic milestone with the launch of Heartbeat Heroes, a Heartsafe Campus initiative born from close collaboration between the Division of Student Affairs (UCS), the Faculty of Medicine, and Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah. The programme highlights the vital importance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in responding to cardiac arrest emergencies.

The initiative will be rolled out for students across three training series from October to December 2025, with each series targeting 1,500 participants under the guidance of 30 certified trainers. For staff members, training sessions will be conducted twice monthly until the end of the year, ensuring widespread preparedness across the campus community.

Beyond equipping students and staff with life-saving skills, Heartbeat Heroes aligns with the university’s aspiration to nurture graduates who are knowledgeable and socially responsible. The initiative also reinforces UiTM’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in advancing health and well-being, quality education, safe communities, and cross-sector collaboration.
