28 August 2026 – In conjunction with National Month, the Psychology and Counselling Unit of UiTM Selangor, Dengkil Campus, in collaboration with the Counselling Peer Club (KRK), organised the “Shoulder to Cry On Volume 5: When the Mind Struggles” forum, which was attended by 364 UiTM Foundation students from Dengkil Campus. The forum featured insights from psychiatry, psychology and counselling professionals, namely Dr Iman Mohamed Ali, Psychiatrist at Al-Sultan Abdullah Hospital (HASA); Mr Muhammad Azarul Ashraf Abdul Jalil, Psychology Officer at HASA; and Mr Norhisham Ya’cob, Deputy Psychology Officer from the Psychology and Counselling Unit, UiTM Selangor Branch, Dengkil Campus.
Anchored by the theme “Merdeka Dari Dalam” (Freedom Within), the forum highlighted the importance of self-awareness, healthy coping strategies, and seeking professional support when needed. The sharing sessions also helped enhance mental health literacy among students, particularly in managing emotions and stress, building strong support networks, and understanding the available channels for assistance. The initiative reflects UiTM’s continued efforts to foster a more aware, resilient and psychologically well-supported campus community.
