- Provide professional and ethical counseling services to help students and staff achieve emotional, mental, spiritual and behavioral well-being.
- Helps to improve the self-development and personality of students to be more authoritative, balanced, effective and productive.
PSYCHOLOGY MANAGEMENT SECTION:
- Advocacy and Psycho-Education.
- Implement mental health awareness programs, interviews and the distribution of psychological information and counseling through writing, publications or campaigns.
- Psychosocial
- Offering psychosocial support in cases of crisis and trauma such as Psychological First Aid (PFA).
- Psychometrics
- Administer psychological instruments to campus residents (students and staff).
- High-Risk and Clinical Case Management
- Managing high-risk mental health cases – psychological risk assessment, action plan, and referral to professionals and hospitals.
- Development of Psychological Policies, Guidelines and SOPs
- Develop and review policies, guidelines and guidelines for mental health cases to be in line with the ethics of the Malaysian Counsellors Board, the Counsellors Act 1998 and UiTM policies.
- Research, Innovation and Psychological Analysis
- Analyze campus residents' mental health screening data, the effectiveness of mental health interventions and training for campus residents, and develop innovative digital interventions and counseling psychology modules.
- Training and Development of Psychological Competence
- Providing psychological training and guidance and counseling to campus residents such as mental health literacy modules, facilitator and helping skills modules, and Psychological First Aid (PFA).
COUNSELING MANAGEMENT SECTION:
- Counseling Services.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to campus residents.
- Wellbeing Intervention
- Implement mental well-being interventions for campus residents such as Student Mental Health Screening interventions and MyPsyD interventions.
- Student and Staff Support Services
- Supervise student support groups (PEERs) and staff (AKRAB).
- Risk and Special Needs Counseling Case Management
- Monitor case interventions, provide clinical documentation and referral for high-risk counseling cases.
- Crisis Counseling and Emergency Intervention
- Provide post-crisis support and be involved as a field officer for emotional crisis cases.
- Prevention and Early Intervention Program
- Implement early prevention programs such as coping skills training and new student transition modules.
- Network Management and Strategic Collaboration
- Establishing collaboration with hospitals, NGOs, and communities for the development and management of psychological and counseling cases.
