13 April 2025 – The Co-Curriculum Unit and the Volunteer Brigade Association of UiTM Selangor participated in a Post-Fire Relief Mission following the gas pipe explosion in Putra Heights. The mission held in collaboration with MERCY Malaysia, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ), Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) and the National Solid Waste Management Department, involved 39 volunteers and 3 staff members from UiTM Selangor, as well as volunteers from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).
The UCS team was led by Madam Nursyakirin Jantan, Executive Officer (Co-Curriculum) who also serves as the advisor to the Volunteer Brigade. This mission not only provided much-needed aid to the affected victims, but also instilled a spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility among the UiTM Selangor community. It reinforces their dedication to contribute to society through humanitarian programmes and strategic collaborations with external agencies.
